ドリス・デイとダニー・トーマス主演。作詞家ガス・カーンと夫人で作曲家のグレースの物語。

恋愛詩など取るに足りないものと思っていたカーンがグレースの父親の朗読するエリザベス・ブラウニングの詩に打ちのめされるシーン。
詩は映画『欲望という名の電車』(1951)でも読まれた『ポルトガル語からのソネット』の43番。
